Board Meeting Minutes
November 10The regular meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held on Tuesday November 10, 2009 at the Divernon Village Hall. Acting Mayor Randy Rhodes called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. After all in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Clerk called roll call: Acting Mayor Randy Rhodes “Here”, Melissa Layton “Here”, Kelly Horn “Here”, Tom Burke “Here”, Randy Rieke “Here”, Michelle Bennett “Here” and Joe Bukantos “Here”. Also present Police Chief Eric Kirbach, Supervisor Larry Rhodes and Treasurer Lucille Hundley.
The minutes for the October 28 regular meeting were presented. After any additions or corrections were made a motion to approve was made by M. Bennett. Second by T. Burke. Motion passed 6-0.
Motion to pay $50.00 to the Auburn High School yearbook for an ad by M. Bennett. Second by M. Layton. Motion passed 6-0.
The bills were presented for approval. After additions and corrections were made, motion to approve bills by R. Rieke. Second by M. Bennett. Motion passed 6-0.
Supervisor (L. Rhodes):
Supervisor Rhodes stated the Christmas decorations will be placed beginning next week. In addition, the Skidsteer has been ordered and the Snow Route signs will be placed around the Village Square.
Police:
Chief Kirbach reported on ordinance violations.
Discussion was held regarding holiday pay for the part time officers. There is a coverage issue during the holiday season that needs to be resolved. The Personnel code needs to be revised to include holiday pay for part time officers. The matter will be addressed at the next Board meeting.
Treasurer (L. Hundley):
Treasurer Hundley presented the monthly Treasurer’s report.
Committee Reports
Public Works, Streets, Alleys, and Utilities (J. Bukantos):
J. Bukantos stated the sidewalk project has been completed. There is an area of concern regarding the removal of a tree on Village property that is causing damage to the sidewalks. T. Burke to contact Carter Tree Service to have an estimate done on tree removal around the Village that needs to be addressed.
J. Bukantos questioned the use of rock for alleyways. Supervisor Rhodes stated at the present time there is no rock available.
Finance (R. Rieke):
R. Rieke presented information found on Grants for School Safety and will look into the matter further.
Personnel/Human Resources (K. Horn):
K. Horn stated he will be meeting with Mark Petrelli with R. W. Troxell regarding employee insurance.
Health & Safety (M. Bennett):
Nothing to report.
Building, Grounds and Lights(T. Burke):
Nothing to report.
Community Development (M. Layton):
M. Layton reported on the Village sign. The sign is in need of repair and may possibly need trees moved. M. Layton will look further into this matter.
Old Business
Acting Mayor R. Rhodes presented the TIF District Redevelopment Agreement for members to review for future discussion. The information has been forwarded to the Village Attorney for review also.
