Board Meeting Minutes
January 27
The regular meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday January 27, 2010, at the Divernon Village Hall. Acting Mayor Randy Rhodes called the meeting to order at 7:11 pm. After all in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Clerk called roll call: Acting Mayor Randy Rhodes “Here”, Melissa Layton “Here”, Kelly Horn “Here”, Tom Burke “Here”, Randy Rieke “Here”, and Michelle Bennett “Here”, Joe Bukantos “Here”. Also present Police Chief Eric Kirbach and Superintendent Larry Rhodes. Not present Treasurer Lucille Hundley.
The minutes for the January 13th regular meeting were presented. After any additions or corrections were made a motion to approve was made by T. Burke. Second by K. Horn. Motion passed 6-0.
The bills were presented for approval. Motion to approve Acting Mayor R. Rhodes to sign a check from the Flood Buyout for $202.50 by K. Horn. Second by T. Burke. Motion passed 6-0. After additions and corrections were made, motion to approve bills by R. Rieke. Second by M. Layton. Motion passed 6-0.
Supervisor (L. Rhodes):
Nothing to report.
Police:
Nothing to report.
Motion to place a lien on property at 821 S. 1st St. for clean up in the amount of $500.00 by K. Horn. Second by M. Bennett. Motion passed 6-0.
Treasurer (L. Hundley):
Monthly Treasurer’s report was presented.
Committee Reports
Public Works, Streets, Alleys, and Utilities (J. Bukantos):
J. Bukantos questioned the progress of the Federal Stimulus money.
Finance (R. Rieke):
R. Rieke discussed a grant program for possible restoration funds available for the Depot. R. Rieke will look further into the matter.
Acting Mayor R. Rhodes received a phone conversation from Bill Gregerich stating he will no longer be handling government accounts. Suggestions were made regarding a new accountant and will be discussed at a future meeting.
Personnel/Human Resources (K. Horn):
K. Horn reported the Drug Testing Policy is due to be updated and the roster will also need to be updated.
K. Horn reminded the Board of the upcoming reviews for employees.
Health & Safety (M. Bennett):
M. Bennett discussed the waste disposal program with Sangamon County.
Building, Grounds and Lights (T. Burke):
Nothing to report.
T. Burke stated a complaint was made regarding the property at 600 S. Lincoln. M. Bennett will follow up this matter.
Community Development (M. Layton):
M. Layton presented information on projects that she is currently working on. As information is gather it will be passed on to the Board for review.
Old Business
Acting Mayor Rhodes discussed the ADA information needed.
New Business
The Board discussed the need for the Animal Control Officer. Chief Kirbach will have an ad placed for the position.
